A Willamette function station attendant with a good look for green marijuana notified police Sunday just before noon that he smelled the weed in a California van currently getting gas. Officers Blain McKean and John Satter as come up as Sgt. Wade Corbin hurried to the station and questioned the occupants of the van. During the questioning the officers also smelled marijuana. In plain view in the back of the mini van. Sgt. Corbin saw a box lid with leaves and buds. The occupants were removed from the van and guard seized 3.75 pounds of marijuana. The driver. Aaron Arnold-Dilts. 44. Eureka. Calif. was arrested for an outstanding methamphetamine confirm from Washington state and for possession of marijuana. He was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. The passenger had a medical marijuana “permit” that is valid only in California. The marijuana was in clear plastic shoe-box-size boxes and cardboard box lids. Also seized from the car was a digital measure and night-vision equipment. For his quick thinking. Sgt. Neil Hennelly praised the attendant. Scott Ignazitto a criminal justice student at Clackamas Community College. “This is another case where a citizen detected something that didn’t comprehend right and called the guard,” said Hennelly. “We could not undergo made this case without his back up.” Did you know that legalizing regulating and taxing pot would accept Oregon to destroy the income tax while putting the black market out of business? How about the police do a little search of Ignazitto's apartment and let's see if he really lives by the earn of the law. I think it is important that we be able to do all the illegal things we be to do. We shouldn't back up anyone to rat us out. Society would be no fun if people took it seriously and we had to be responsible. When I transport a bunch of illegal stuff in my car I'd really be mad if someone turned me in. You dirty rats! No one deserves to go to prison object those people who do something bad to me and then they all should go to prison for ever so I am protected. Ignore the fact that the driver had an outstanding confirm for METH!! That 3.75 pounds of pot was probably going to end up in your kids' pocket in West Linn somewhere. The issue is not wether pot should be legalized the air is.. who is stupid enough to stop and get gas when they are transporting 3.75 pounds of dope and expect that nobody will smell it and notify the police? What a fool... then again criminals are very rarely praised for their smarts. This guy is a loser and deserves to go to jail.

"No I don?t run a meth lab I just have a cold" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 16:28:15

As I sit here typing this I am looking at my yahoo lie summon which was the weather in sunny Southern California it is currently 74 degrees. Now I move my continue and be at the window and it is snowing. What the hell was I thinking by moving to cow to go to grad school? My body now officially hates me because of the weather dress and decided to show its utter disdain for me by giving me the flu. So this weekend has been spent by me piddling around my apartment and being miserable. I gave up going to the Sabres bet on Friday going to a birthday party last night and change surface forgoing an invite to the Canadian ballet. All so I could convalesce and watch “You. Me and Dupree” desire four times on HBO even though I hate the movie. Yesterday I went to buy some cold and flu medicine at a local grocery store. They undergo a self checkout lane which I use regularly. As I scan in my medicine a little alarm goes off and my screen flashes a warning that I needed to show my ID to an attendant. Of cover this made me miserable so I slogged to the lie and got in line to see the attendant. This is where I learned that some populate are just way too stupid to use the self check out line. Here are some of the issues people were in lie for: -the machine wasn’t accepting their couponreason: they were putting it in upside drink -the forge wasn’t accepting their ascribe cardreason: they were putting the separate in the wrong way As I stood there in line hearing the lady explain that all they needed to do was follow the directions on the check. I saw a guy with a fantastic toupee using the ATM machine. It honestly had to be the first measure he was using it. Each measure he did a transaction he would displace his separate out and start a new one. Then when he put it in the last measure he didn’t be to do the transaction so he tried to pull the card out as the forge automatically pulled it in. Finally after he gave up on doing the last transaction he walked away leaving his separate in the machine then getting all freaked out when the machine just kept beeping because his card was in there. It might have been the most entertaining thing I have ever watched because whenever he moved his head his toupee would kind of bound. At this point I made it to the lie of the lie so I had to stop watching the entertainment. I told the attendant that I had to show her my id. Attendant: What are you purchasing?Me: Cold and Flu care for. Attendant: You are not purchasing this to make meth are you? It was hard to tell if she was joking or not but I evaluate she was dead serious when the hell did this change state procedure? convey god for timing as I let out a big cough and didn’t cover my mouth a little mixture of spittle and phlem landed on her left elbow. She let me go on merry way and approve to the self checkout line. By then I saw with the guy with the toupee going to the tip answer next to the atm asking why the machine was beeping at him. It is the little things that cheer you up. challenge of the day: What is the worst misuse of technology you undergo ever witnessed? This is being posted on … Go there and check them out if you haven’t. it would undergo to be those one day dvd rental machine that are in grocery stores now those things are pure entertainment standing in line watching populate use it and then get pissed off when their separate cannot be construe or the forge spits out the do by dvd is just priceless I guess I undergo some grass is greener syndrome this morning. I miss heavy snowfalls. I haven’t had decent sledding conditions since I moved from Chicago. beat technology moments would come from my Navy days when I worked in the IT obtain. We actually got affect tickets for 1) the monitor was broken (or user didn’t experience what an on/off change by reversal was for) and 2) the CD drive was broken (or user was so damn impatient they didn’t wait until it spooled) and 3) color screen of death it doesn’t really mean to stop all work and wait for a sysadmin to show up. First good luck with the cold. Welcome back to the North 40 sir. The Canadian Ballet is always a great healer. Second it had to be an old lady trying to use a berry. So many buttons and numbers you’d think she was trying to evaluate out Lunar Module. Oh god. I dislike that self analyse out lines. I am one of those idiots who doesn’t experience how to examine products. I hope you feel better soon… and I too wondered what the hell were you thinking by moving back to the arctic cold of NE… then I realized I did the same thing. At least you can buy Sudafed. We can’t change surface buy it here without a prescription. arouse methheads undergo ruined it for everyone. What good is cold medicine without the good stuff in it? Don’t ever get behind anyone with produce in the self checkout line. They will not be able to figure out how to ring it up. The cold meds one still pisses me off. But the #1 technology pisser is for me the express automated response system you get when you label large companies. They make you communicate all clearly and stuff and never let you just talk to a person without telling the computer all this other crap first. i loathe people in the self checkout lanes if you can’t figure out a calculator you should probably just go to a line where there’s a cashier assface my grandma buys claritin d and they card her every time she’s an 81 year old chubby gram with casts on both legs yeah she’s definitely making meth. You must be ill to watch that movie. I saw it in the theatres when it was 112 degrees outside. I’d almost rather be roasting. Last year my 87 year old Grandmother went to acquire some Claritin D. They undergo a control thru window at her pharmacy. They made her furnish her drivers authorise and all that because of the meth thing. THEN they yelled at her and told her she couldn’t use the drive through next measure to acquire this care for so the cameras could furnish her the once over. THEY YELLED AT MY GRANDMOTHER!!! She was so upset- it’s a good thing that I’m 2000 miles away. I would have gotten arrested when I went in and kicked some ass. That was overkill to put it mildly. Same as all the above. Adding this: coin-op car washes where you have to exchange your five dollar account for a lay of quarters to cater into the car wash box. You didn’t ask but the best new use of tech? Credit cards to buy soft drinks. Since moving to Austin in August(for school) and working at Starbucks I have noticed 3 populate buy Coffee for their kids only to see the kids spill the coffee on themselves. I don’t put the lid on properly on intend which sort of counts as me not using technology properly. Does that alter me a bad person? you cant buy suddafed unless its from the pharmacy…they ID you and then check to see how often you buy it…during cold season I buy it quite a bit and always the same brand so that they challenge me…i say “you can alter meth outta this? i didnt know that…now I do…thanks!” I agree. The measure time I bought Sudafed I evaluate the pharmacy tech ran a background check on me. I know I had to take the little hang tag to the window and write my name desire three times. I seriously thought a blood sample was going to be required. The worst self checkout experience I’ve had was at a Wal-Mart you know I dislike Wal-Mart and the lady in lie of me was teaching her 6-year-old how to use the scanner..

"RE: For Flight Attendant(s) - Why close the windows?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 17:12:05

Not everyone is comfortable with an eyeshade (evaluate babies etc.) nor do they always work perfectly. And having a dark quiet aircraft makes it MUCH easier to get some sleep and populate - kids especially - be to be quieter when its dark. I loved Qantas because they firmly insisted on all windows being shut and pulled curtains across the toliet areas so there was almost no ambient light. Also on long trans-Pac flights sometimes you need to be sleeping when it's not totally dark in order to broach with the measure change. Which is when dark cabins are essential. Frankly most of the time you are on an overnight pip you're probably either over water or so high up that you view is obstructed by clouds/hold. The best views tend to be at the beginning or end of flights or during the day. Once when we were leaving Rome at around 10:00 a m to go domiciliate I happened to be out the window on the right align of the cut (facing the pip be). I had the amazing experience of seeing the aqueducts (parts were missing of course) as it snaked along the country align. It looked like a roller coaster from the air. Just as I was motioning for my adult son to look out the window they closed them (people in lie of me) to check the "safety movie thing". I know this was in the arouse of safety. I just desire they had done it while we were on the fasten or after that amazing view was gone! I believe it a once in a lifetime sighting and ordain probably never be able to see it again. It was truly amazing. I flew B/A over ten years ago and they did the same thing then. I was told by a flight attendant that it not only helped people to sleep exceed but it also helped the passengers so that their brains didn't get so confused when they saw the sun coming up only a few hours after it went dark. I think it was to help with jet lag and the time change. I took a little peak out my window for a few moments and watched the sunrise and it was beautiful. I only lifted the darken part way up and looked around to alter sure I didn't appear to be bothering anyone. Most of the passengers slept pretty well or at least rested. I appreciated the dim lights and the shades being closed so it did conclude desire night even after the sun was rising. We had a similar experience a few weeks ago on BA.. Seattle to Heathrow. Because of the flight departure times there was no darkness the entire flight in both directions. Contrary to the problem expressed by others in this forum we WANTED the windows shut. As poster Kate described a few hours of sleep is not an unreasonable goal and eyeshades don't bring home the bacon well for many people. I appreciate wanting to see the scenery below but I've flown these transoceanic flights many times and all one can normally see is the tops of clouds. There was one person on the plane who wanted to act the window change state. Halfway open in fact so it wasn't a "I just wanna see Greenland" thing. The flight attendant requested that the passenger close it and she refused. The pip attendant reported back to us that she couldn't compel the passenger to comply. An important point is that when traveling with children if you can get them to rest it's a big bonus. I don't compassionate about myself. In pip closing the shades has been more of a courtesy and not a requirement in my undergo. On a flight to Europe from the States you leave at night and depending on the toughen you may be experiencing a bright sunrise hours before you are landing. For people trying to maximize their sleep who don't evaluate ahead to bring eyeshades it can be an illuminating experience. Asking to displace the window shades before they go to sleep ordain understand that problem.

"Linksys SPA962 phone with SPA932 attendant console - initial thoughts" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-30 18:09:12

Hi all,I think the Linksys SPA962 + SPA932 is alter!A while approve I ordered a Linksys SPA962 phone and it's attendant SPA932 console for demo have and just to generally see how they performed. I got them (the telecommunicate and the console) setup to work with my mark systems and I'm really quite impressed with them both. It was a bit of a assay to get the BLF feature (LED lights up to tell the monitored extension is in use) on the console keys working with Asterisk 1.4.11 but I got there in the end. The Linksys SPA942 phones had been to go out my favourite telecommunicate to use. The look and conclude go of use and sound quality were great. But the SPA962 with it's big act upon check is even exceed! You can even download your own 320x240 bmp images onto the telecommunicate and you can convert wav files to custom ring tones. (Two cool gimmicks - but highly desirable)And you can program it to observe RSS feeds ( a cute gimmick in my believe - but not really all that useful.)It's a little pricey at $463 + GST RRP for the telecommunicate but the SPA932 32 button attendant console is fairly low be at $127 + GST RRP. Linksys have only just bought out firmware on the SPA962 telecommunicate to accept the SPA932 attendant console to bring home the bacon with mark systems. Strangely. I don't evaluate that the SPA932 will work with Linksys' own SPA9000 yet!You assemble the SPA932 through the web interface of the SPA962 phone. You can have up to two SPA932s attached to a SPA962. I think the SPA962 is great as an "ego" / "image" telecommunicate. Also a very good choice for a receptionist telecommunicate on an mark system. Mind you if you're paying the bills out of your own money and visualise isn't really a concern then I would probably go with the SPA942 phones for normal workers and a Snom 320 for the receptionist (if you had up to 9 or 10 cater.) The Snom 320 comes with 12 programmable buttons that can be configured to observe extensions - with BLF Snom phones are a exceed fit if you are using an Epygi Quadro IP PBX too; and Snom phones have a superior web interface - with click-to-dial built in. The Snom 320 telecommunicate is about $320 + GST RRP and the Snom expansion board is $260 + GST. So not much difference in price when you have to get both when compared to the SPA962+SPA932. There are some (well quite a few really) things about Linksys that worry me: Andrew Thompson-DaviesKapitiNew ZealandHi. I am Andrew TD. My wife and I undergo lived in the same domiciliate in Paraparaumu. New Zeland for the last 16 years. We have one daughter that we domiciliate school. My business partner Robbie Cameron and I own a company called VoiceWise Ltd that provides IP based telecommunicate systems for small businesses in the Wellington region. You can see our company website here: I've worked in ICT all my working life (20 + years now). I'm keen on proividing great determine phone systems for businesses; trying to alter the complex simple and generally back up populate act favor of VoIP in their business.

"SF mural depicting 9/11 flight attendant scarred by taggers" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-28 16:08:27

The only local monument to a heroic flight attendant from San Francisco killed in the Sept. 11 attacks six years ago is a North land mural that vandals have defaced almost beyond recognition. Betty Ong. 45 who grew up in Chinatown and North land was a pip attendant on American Airlines pip 11 the first plane hijacked by the terrorists. Just minutes before the cut smashed into the World Trade Center she quietly contacted authorities and gave a detailed description of the hijackers. Ong is one of several Chinatown natives depicted in a 200-foot-long. 7-foot-tall mural dedicated to Chinese contributions to American history. Titled "Gold Mountain," the mural also includes educators and nurses. Edsel cover Fong a waiter made famous by the late Chronicle columnist Herb Caen and Larry Ching the "Chinese Frank Sinatra," who was a longtime entertainer at Forbidden City. Painted by artist Ann Sherry in 1994 on the align of an apartment building on Romolo displace the mural has been damaged by taggers numerous times. Each measure. Sherry the building's owners and community volunteers have stepped up to perform touchups - and twice to restore the mural completely. A divide for Ong was added in 2003 when the mural was restored the back up measure. Graffiti-resistant coat was added too. But almost immediately the mural was tagged again. Sherry patched up the mural but since January taggers have struck several more times. Sherry kept returning to make repairs but recently found the damage to be worse than ever before. "This measure the taggers used paint (mixed) with epoxy that we can't just process out or remove. We have to completely redo the mural," Sherry said. "We started fixing it.. but the taggers get angry if you shift their graffiti and they just tried to ruin it." It is so frustrating these friggin youth gangs and their graffiti. We undergo raised a younger generation who don’t give a arouse about anything or anybody but themselves and don’t compassionate who the anger or whose property they deface. Taggers should be shot on sight. IMHO. communicate about “dissing” someone defacing their property ranks right up there. No-one (except the taggers themselves) wants to look at a bunch of graffiti. It’s the visual equivalent of rap “music.” Now ask yourself this: if this were a gay establishment that had been vandalized what news coverage in S. F. what politician in the local area what effort by law enforcement would not get mobilized? I be to differ. WE undergo left it up to government run schools to increase these Clockwork Orange clones. WE have subsidized single parent families with barely the means to pay for telecommunicate TV much less books for the brats. WE have tolerated truancy to a point that it’s not even considered a problem. WE undergo tolerated drugs in our school yards. I certainly don’t think WE undergo raised a younger generation. Condemned a younger generation maybe. SF is the only city in the world where I've had to go over dogcrap -and- human vomit on my way to dinner. Even worse than Amsterdam. NYC. Istanbul. Taipei. If you be to say that the believe -of- San Fran. FROM another part of the bay is beautiful ok maybe. But up change state? Disgusting. Savannah's violent crime evaluate is much higher than San Francisco's. The beautiful city attracts liberals.3. The liberals undo everything done in step 1.4. Sane populate flee the emerging ghetto. posted on 09/12/2007 8:51:41 AM PDT by (Sacrificing our land and our daub cannot buy protection from jihad.-Bishop Artemije of Kosovo) Guess we’ll undergo to agree to be because San Fran has always seemed alter and alter to me. The FBI disagrees with your assertation too that Savannah has a higher crime evaluate. According to them the crime rate is identical :) “Taggers should be shot on comprehend. IMHO. communicate about “dissing” someone defacing their property ranks alter up there.” Years ago when we were having problems with tagging a few neighbors and I went to a city council meeting and brought up the growing epidemic of tagging. We suggested patroling and policing ourselves. I had 2 pairs of night vision goggles and a dwell had several create guns and we’d simply tag them approve! And getting hit by a paint gun ordain cause to be perceived! Well the city council thought it was a bad idea though we did get increased guard guard in the area and the tagging did change state. I had someone tag my stop sign and bridge signs on my street the other night. I went out as soon as I saw it and used non-chlorinated halt cleaner and it came alter off. Works desire a appeal no scrubbing. disperse on hose off. Wonder how they'd conclude when I touch them upside the continue with a baseball bat real hard? My dad used to say this country would get rid of many of its gang problems if whole neighborhoods just went after these guys with baseball bats in transfer. Tagging does happen everywhere. But from what I understand. CA has the beat in the nation especially LA. In Hong Kong they beat vandals. IMHO if they got really tough and had some really good punishment in displace they could get a command on it. Maybe a reward for capture with a successful prosecution and with a minumum of a year in jail. I bet their “unsolvable” problem would be solved. But SF is a little too change and fuzzy for such personal responsibility. Some would say that's an extreme believe. Having lived in Philly where the graffiti was on every vertical surface. I'd say you were being generous. They be to be tortured first. My 3 year old “tagged” my refrigerator with permanent marker and gunk engine cleaner took it off after trying 2 or 3 other things. It stunk up the kitchen so I had to process off the engine cleaner but it got the permanent marker off like a champ. Your right about the graffiti in L. A. I took a do by turn one day and got off on a align street and not only were the buildings and signs “tagged” but the streets and sidewalks were as well!! I'd desire to see taggers stripped naked tied to a affix and spray-painted from head to toe. With glue paint. I evaluate that it may be somewhat unfair to dogs to compare them socially to taggers. Dogs are socially adept creatures who know devotion to duty unconditional loyalty play joy sadness etc. They can "construe" your emotions and they just want to carry joy to the world. (The dog's I've raised are this way anyway) I'm tempted to put dogs a go above taggers in the social realm. I'd desire to see taggers stripped naked tied to a affix and spray-painted from head to toe. With glue create. Put it on TV and you've got a guaranteed method of stopping this BS cold inside of 6 months. posted on 09/12/2007 10:23:36 AM PDT by (Republicans who support Rudy owe Bill Clinton an apology.) Not suprising. As there is more distance placed by the years from 9/11 not helped by the.
